PolyDADMAC (polydiallyldimethyl ammonium chloride) is a high-charge-density, water-soluble cationic polymer, CAS 26062-79-3. Its molecular chain carries permanent positive charges, is readily ionised in water, insensitive to pH changes, and resistant to chlorine. The mechanism of action is dual: charge neutralisation and adsorption bridging. On one hand, the cationic groups on the polymer chain rapidly neutralise the negative charges on suspended particles and colloids in water, destabilising them.
On the other hand, the long polymer chains bridge the destabilised fine particles into larger flocs, accelerating sedimentation and solid-liquid separation.
